I've just scored a mini-ITX 800 MHz mobo and case from a friend -- in
exchange for getting Gentoo working on his mini-ITX system.

I looked around College this afternoon for parts, but drew a blank. Are
there any mini-ITX savvy suppliers in TO? (Sonnam was the only one who
knew what it was -- but made the international sound of expensiveness,
and said they'd have to order it in).

Basically, I'm needing low-profile PC133 RAM, the suitable brick PSU,
and a source of the various 3.5" to 2.5" converters and mounts. The
laptop hard-drive and very expensive TV card I know where to get

cheers,
Stewart

These days I recommend Computer Square in Markham for all non-standard
PC stuff.

http://computersquare.ca/

The website is interesting, but not comprehensive - give them a call or
go by for a look and chat.

I know logiccomputerhouse carries the 3.5 to 2.5 converters (I have used
one of them although in the reverse direction). PC133 ram is pretty
hard to come by as it is, not sure if the stuff you can still find it
low profile or not.

You might have some luck with memory if you try a couple Mac shops. The
earlier iMacs and iBooks took that sort of RAM. Maybe give CPUsed on
Dupont St. a call: 416-533-2001.

Thanks for all the good suggestions. I've been punching in part numbers
gleaned from various overseas vendors to <http://bbf.ca/>, and finding
mostly mail-order places. There are also some eBay stores working out of
Markham that do mini-ITX.

I may soon have another box to cannibalise. Their former life as
satellite routers is coming to an end ...

cheers,
Stewart
